Located on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, and serving the Jewish community of the South Bay of Los Angeles, Congregation Ner Tamid is a warm, welcoming, and vibrant community. We believe that Judaism is a celebration of life and a pathway toward personal meaning and spiritual fulfillment.

At Ner Tamid, we share in each other's joys and comfort one another in our sorrows. Our doors are open wide to all who wish to participate in our Services and programming and we embrace all who seek to join with us. Selichot is the traditional "Service of Reflection" that begins the High Holy Days season.  During the Selichot Services we first sing some of the familiar refains and consider a few of the central themes of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.  The Torah scrolls in our Ark are publicly changed into their white High Holy Days covers, symbolizing the freshness and purity of the coming New Year.
