High Holidays 2021 / 5782

This year, Congregation Ner Tamid of South Bay will be offering services in three formats:

  •  In-person services in the CNT Sanctuary.
  • In-person services outside on the patio and/or in the parking lot. Audio and video of the service will be projected live on screens and through speakers. Please bring your own shade.
  • Live stream services that you can watch at home.

Reservations are required for all three types of services; including live stream.

Seats will be assigned in advance. Please read the following information and complete the form below to select the type of service(s) you would like to attend, to reserve your seats, and to receive your tickets.

Tickets are free for members. Fees for non-members are explained on the reservation form below. Members must have renewed their membership to receive tickets. If you still need to renew, you can visit your CNT member account on the CNT website, or you can email Ellie Berkowitz-Handler at ellieberk@nertamid.com or call at 310-377-6986 ext. 224 for assistance.

In order to make in-person services in the CNT sanctuary as safe as possible, we are instituting the following precautions:

  • Seating will be socially distanced so each family group will be separated from other groups. This will also ensure that the overall number of people in the sanctuary is much lower than usual. You will have an opportunity on the form to indicate if there are individuals not in your family whom you would like to sit with.
  • Weather permitting, doors will be open to allow as much fresh air to circulate as possible.
  • The HVAC system will be running continuously to keep air moving, and, if there is virus in the air, high MERV filters will remove as much as of the virus as possible.
  • All persons 12 or older will be required to submit proof of vaccination or proof of a negative PCR COVID test. The COVID test must be no more than 72 hours prior to the service attended. Your medical information will be kept confidential, and records will be destroyed as soon as practical.
  • All persons must wear a mask over both mouth and nose.
  • People should not gather or linger in the vestibule or other areas.

All of the precautions above, except (2), (3), and (6) apply to those watching services outside on the patio or parking lot.

Childcare and youth services will be available for some services, as indicated on the reservation form below. Children participating in childcare or youth services do NOT need to be vaccinated or show proof of a negative COVID test.

6. YIZKOR MEMORIAL BOOK

During the High Holy Days season, it is customary to remember loved ones who are no longer with us. At CNT, we publish an annual Memorial Book through which those in our community can list the names of whom they wish to remember. In doing so, it is customary to make a voluntary contribution in their memory.
The deadline for submissions was Friday, August 20th. We cannot guarantee that submissions received after the deadline will make it into the Memorial Book. If we did not receive a submission from you, your submission from last year will be included.

CLICK HERE to see last year's memorial book.

Although the deadline has passed, you are welcome to give a contribution for the Yizkor Memorial Book in memory of those listed.
It is customary to make a voluntary contribution for the memorial book in memory of those listed.  (The recommended donation is $36.00)
