We are located in the beautiful ocean side city of Rancho Palos Verdes, California and we are the center of Jewish life in the South Bay for many.  At Congregation Ner Tamid, we share in each other's joys and comfort one another in our sorrows. Our doors are open wide to all who wish to participate in our services and programming and we embrace all who seek to join with us. Our celebration of Jewish life includes the broadest range of quality programs and compelling experiences for people of all ages.

CNT is Open! Our offices and the building are open.  Shabbat services are now taking place again in the Sanctuary (with Covid protocols in place).

    Shabbat Morning Service

    Shabbat, Oct 8th 9:30a to 12:30p
    Everyone entering the building must present proof at the door of full vaccination AND BOOSTER, unless: They present proof that they are fully vaccinated and are not yet eligible for a booster (e.g. their last shot was within 6 months and/or they are under 12), or They present proof of a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours (e.g. Thursday evening or Friday for a Shabbat event), or They are under 3 years old, or They are students entering the building for CLAL or Preschool, or They present proof of a negative rapid test taken the same day. Masks Masks are mandatory for everyone if a large number of people is expected to gather indoors at one time (e.g. bnei mitzvah or a concert)  High-quality masks (such as N95 masks) are required indoors at all times for persons who do not present proof of vaccination.  Masks are mandatory indoors for everyone if the number of COVID cases in Los Angeles County that week exceeds 25 per 100,000.     Adult Ed: Learn To Chant The Torah with Cantor Jaffe

    LEARN TO CHANT THE TORAH This class is for people who do not know how to read Hebrew and want to learn how to sound out Hebrew words. Come join our burgeoning class of folks who want to do something REALLY fun with their Hebrew reading abilities: LEARN HOW TO CHANT TORAH!!! Even if you have taken a class in the past and it didn’t seem to work, this time will make it stick! We will be meeting Saturday mornings after services from 12:45-1:30pm.     Adult Ed: Prayerbook Hebrew the Easy Way

    Shabbat, Oct 8th 12:45p to 1:30p
    Can you read the words of the prayerbook, but don't know what they mean? Would you like to understand what you are saying and singing? Come learn basic Hebrew using materials that focus on vocabulary and grammar of the most common prayers. Saturdays at CNT after Kiddush lunch (roughly 12:45-1:30pm) starting October 8, the first Shabbat after Yom Kippur. For more information. or to sign up, email dklerman@law.usc.edu.
