3:20 PM - 3:30 PMCongregation Ner Tamid Parking Lot

Sunday, September 20th at 3:20pm at CNT. Come to blow our own shofar or just to listen as CNT joins the Wave. In partnership with IKAR, a unique Los Angeles-based spiritual community, and in response to this year’s physically distant Rosh Hashanah prayer services, the Jewish Federation proudly announces the Shofar Wave on September 20th! Shofar blowers from synagogues across Los Angeles will bring the joy outside so everyone can revel in the sound we wait all year to hear. Join us in leading your Jewish community in a feeling of pride and togetherness at this unique time of isolation. The wave will start at 3:00 PM on the second day of Rosh Hashanah with the first set of tekiot (shofar blasts) from Pasadena and, upon completion, will set off another and another, culminating in final blasts in Thousand Oaks at 3:50 PM. Congregation Ner Tamid will be participating in front of the synagogue, 5721 Crestridge Road, at 3:20 pm! Come to blow our own shofar or just to listen as CNT joins the Wave. To see the schedule of participating synagogues and their corresponding times, please CLICK HERE. It is imperative that everyone adheres to the rules of physical distancing and wears a mask to enjoy this community experience. In accordance with the Department of Public Health’s public health protocol, individuals observing the shofar blowing should stand at least 12 feet from the shofar, and maintain a minimum of 6 feet distance from anyone not in their household. If your level of observance allows, please take pictures or video and share on social media using #shofarwave. We hope to see you and wish you a happy, healthy, and peaceful New Year!
